Tailoring training is a specialized technical training, women can undergo in a short span of time to pick up techniques to cut and modify clothes to produce various ready to wear dresses /clothes for children and adult men or women. Apart from learning the tailoring skill to produce ready to wear fabrics the trainees will be also able to make different types of materials made up of cloths to suit different domestic purposes and human use like towels, kerchiefs, curtains, bed sheets, pillow covers, blankets and wearables. It’s a skill that will help women to earn money from their homes to begin with. Many women and men have taken up this trade to earn money and earn good name as well. This could be taken up as a big industry or medium scale or cottage home industry.
Tailoring course is offered as skill training involving small expenses for acquiring skill base for the women from the rural areas. To those who do not afford to pay huge amount for a training, one can learn this trade at village itself with the assistanceof Sri Dhanvanthri Ashramam Trust and learn to stitch minimum items which are highly in demand at villages and nearby towns by setting up their own Tailoring units .
